Cooperation as a springboard for your company's success
Personnel has now become a critical success factor. The quality and quantity of applicants is sometimes insufficient, making it difficult to fill vacancies. It is also important to keep existing employees happy. We can help you with this and advise you on how to find suitable candidates for your company, particularly through our dual and part-time study principle, and how to satisfy and develop your employees in the long term.
With our range of dual Bachelor’s and part-time Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA study programs and our part-time doctoral program, we offer a suitable personnel recruitment and development measure for every stage of your employees’ development: whether for high school graduates, trainees, experienced professionals or specialists and managers.
These facts speak for themselves:
- Involvement of our partners in the (further) development of our study programs
- Extensive know-how in recruiting and joint personnel marketing
- Employee motivation through development opportunities
- The FHDW is an end-to-end education provider. From training (provided by our sister institution bib International College), through Bachelor's and Master's degrees to doctorates, we guarantee you practical content and direct applicability in your company.
- Companies and students get to know each other intensively during their studies. After graduation, the specialist departments can deploy the qualified employees for vacant positions.
- Our success proves us right: over 550 regional and national companies are integrated into the FHDW cooperation network in NRW.

Better together! People are not only at the center of our work, but also at the FHDW: The close networking between the FHDW, the students and us as a company, as well as the mutual support before and during the studies, makes our cooperation so successful.

What I appreciate about the cooperation with the FHDW is the fast and binding exchange between the university of applied sciences, company and Students. No one here ‘only one number‘but every request is taken seriously and quickly supported. As a graduate of the FHDW, you have an excellent mix of very good theoretical foundations and experience in direct practical implementation, which in my view makes you highly attractive to any employer.
Svenja Küppers | MT AG
We decided to do this back in 2011, our student*in the Business Informatics and Applied Informatics degree courses in cooperation with the FHDW in Mettmann, as we are enthusiastic about the high-quality studies and the close and open exchange, especially with regard to current IT topics. FAQ
How can I find out more and become a partner of the FHDW?
- In an information meeting (at your premises, at the FHDW or virtually), we discuss common starting points and your requirements for the collaboration.
- Suitability test of your company (personnel, space, structure) with regard to the competence objectives defined in the study program.
- Coordination of a written cooperation agreement as the basis for further cooperation.
- Joint recruiting, definition of personnel marketing measures and selection of suitable candidates (matching process).
How does the FHDW support the search for suitable candidates?
The FHDW offers you comprehensive measures in the areas of personnel marketing, employer branding and recruiting.
We will add you to our partner mailing list and inform you regularly about existing and new measures as well as about the FHDW.
According to your requirements, we support you in designing the content of job advertisements in combination with the dual and/or part-time study program. We distribute these via various channels such as schools, trade fairs, online portals, social media or at our own recruiting events. We also approach applicants directly.
What costs will we incur?
All measures of the joint recruiting strategy are usually free of charge for you.
Costs are only incurred if you decide on a suitable candidate and thus pay the tuition and examination fees.
More about the fees
Is there a curriculum that we have to follow?
There are so-called competence objectives for the practical phases of the course, which can be found in the respective module handbooks. Ideally, the content of the practical phases should therefore be based on the previous theory modules in order to deepen them accordingly.
It goes without saying that we support you in designing the deployment plans.
How will I be looked after?
Each partner company has a fixed contact person who is available for all questions, requests and suggestions. Regular coordination meetings are part of our collaboration. This way we always keep each other up to date.
How and by when can we register students?
There is no specific application or registration deadline. However, every applicant must go through our selection process. This can usually be carried out at very short notice.
